Latest news: New Pamphlet Published!

The cover of my new pamphlet, ‘A crocodile, out of nowhere’, available from The Red Ceilings Press

I don’t update this website nearly as much as I should, so here’s a run down of all the things that have happened recently:

  1. My new pamphlet, ‘A crocodile, out of nowhere’, has just been published by The Red Ceilings. Click here to visit their website if you want a copy! The first run is strictly limited to 40 copies so act quickly. Read more about the pamphlet on my publications page.
  2. Two poems from a new sequence I have been working on were published by the wonderful charlie bayliss at Anthropocene. I’m really proud of this sequence and am hoping it will make up the majority of a future pamphlet, publisher unknown.
  3. I took an extended break from writing between September 2020 and March 2021, so that’s it. But the gears are now grinding again.

If you liked my recent poems in Tentacular, Anthropocene, iamb or on the University of Hertfordhsire website, you’ll like this pamphlet!

A quick and enjoyable ten minute read, and ‘quick and enjoyable’ doesn’t happen very often with poems — Martin Stannard

This is a wonderful book — Nikolai Duffy

Bull establishes an alternative reality. One in which a Bull can be an artist and costume designer. One in which a Bull can act as a guide for a man who is profoundly lost.

A fabulously funny and oddly moving first collection. It reads like Ted Hughes crossed with James Tate, but James Roome has a distinctive voice all his own. It is a voice which  promises great things to come — Ian Seed
